wORONORA HEIGHTS

Just rode there today. poorly built skatepark. Days before opening they cut down the basketball hoop. There was about 30 people there and the park can't handle that many people. I don't know how it would have been with people trying to play basketball today. Over all the park has smooth transitions and a pretty big hip. This park is really only for skaters, To small for bikers. I saw a bmx ride jump from to red hip to the rock ledge above, like a step-up. And just to mention the park is slightly different than in the plans above.

im glad they chopped the hoop.

i saw it a couple weeks ago before they pulled the fences down.
anyone got any photos yet?

doesnt seem like its worth an hour drive, but nice for a little roll if you're nearby.

What are the ledges like? are they well placed or more just an after thought?

To get the funding and to appease the local wingers they had to make it more general use. Hence the basketcase hoop. The plans were tweaked 2 years ago by skaters but the hoop had to stay. A couple of weeks back during construction people were complaining on a shire facebook page about the hoop and it looks like that got it removed. It was always a basketball court but no-one played basketball and skaters were all over it so council tried to do the right thing by skaters and make it a proper skate spot.

Anyone got any pics of the park?

I'll be going there again this week, I'll post some pics. I actually had a lot of fun there, I kinda treated it as more of a spot than a park, kinda like those redfern ledges. I feel like they could have put a pyramid in the middle or a rail or something if they ditched the basketball hoop idea early in the piece.

The small curved ledge is really fun.

We dropped over a few weekends ago. It's small and pretty busy. It's a bit of fun but you wouldn't want to travel a long way to get there. Build quality seemed good but there's not much there beyond beginner fun. I'll post up some pics.

About a four foot quarter running down to flat. Learn low and work your way up.

There's a curved manual pad which you won't have trouble getting onto.

Another view from the back. It's a fun little local park.
Sorry about the size of the photos by the way. Too lazy to resize. Have fun.
