> JERRABOMBRA SKATE PARK MEETING
Final meeting for the Madew Regional Park Skate Park
This is a final meeting regarding this project in Jerrabomberra. As many are aware an initial meeting was conducted on 6th December 2004. From that meeting it was decided that another concept be produced to bring to the community.
From the information I received in the last meeting I have asked Convic Design to produce a concept with more ramps etc that are friendly to BMX, skate and blade use. Convic Design has provided this second concept and so it is time to regather and vote on the most popular one. The concept with the highest votes and most positive feedback shall be the chosen design to place into this park.
To sort out final design Queanbeyan City Council are running a public meeting on
· Thursday 3rd February, at the
· Jerrabomberra Community Centre (Side meeting room)
· From 5-6pm.
As mentioned the budget is for a $100 000 park to be constructed and so once again I ask that you be considerate in your appraisal of these concepts. I know many of you have large ideas in your head similar to large parks in the ACT, but we need to be realistic in what is available to us in this situation. Other issues to keep in mind for this meeting are;
· A skatepark is designed for the whole community, so the final outcome might not be exactly what you want, but will serve the whole greater community of the ACT, QBN and Goulburn areas.
· There are many ages, skills and equipment that use each skatepark, so others interests, safety, skill levels and requirements must be considered.
· Convic who are doing the design and construction are very up to date with skate movements/ trends (past and future) and are considered to be among the best in the business in Australia and internationally.
Another point I need to mention that construction of this park shall not be immediate as we have to fit into the construction time table. Once definite dates for construction are given to me I shall pass them onto all. Your patience in this matter is appreciated.
Please be prompt to this event if you can attend, as your input is valued. Any queries please call or email myself on the below details.
